Probably drawn by Spanish Royal School of Navigation, Cadiz, Spain, ca. 1740
Scale: Two inches equals one degree, 1:2,500,000
Portolan chart drawn on vellum with black ink; compass rose in red, blue, & green
Fairly accurate chart for shoreline delineation for its time. The Island of Cuba seems to be poorly defined and 3/4 of island to east of Havanna is not shown.
The general shoreline around the Gulf of Mexico is in good alignment from the Yucatan Penisula around to a somewhat exaggerated Flordia Penisula.
