Transcript

Dear Russell Saw (M Gump?) yesterday and he said that you can get your bronzes cast in San Francisco as there is a good (firm) there, will find out more if you want me too. Here in Oakland is the best (man) I ever saw to do (Chas) work as he will plate the original model with bronze and shows ever saddle string just the way he made it Better com on down and stop here in Oakland a while and work here in my studio (am sure) it will be a good thing for you as he does the best work in that line you ever saw. The last time I saw those book I think (Raban) had them, if he hasen’t (sic) got them forget it. 2nd page (Weaduck) and wife were here last week and have gone south. Rogers lost the little baby. He was here about three months ago and (we) had some time John (Bryan) was here a day or so ago and had (ban) out on a deer hunt with that old-timer from montana that you knew (near Gilray) and he say for me to let them know when you come again so he wants you to come down to the ranch and visit Wish Merry Xmas-, etc to everybody and write soon Your Friend Ed.

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
