From Nancy C. Russell to Mrs. Charles F. Coulter, June 12, 1939
Description
Letter by Nancy C. Russell to Mrs. Charles F. Coulter; requesting she send things from Bull's Head Lodge to California. Typed.
Trail’s End, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, California. June 12th, 1939. Mrs. Charles. F. Coulter, B e l t o n, Montana. Dear Mrs. Coulter: I have just written to Guss asking him to get a couple of little things at the cabin for me – one is a little piece of Navajo blanket that is tacked to the door going into my bedroom from the big room. The thing doesn’t amount to anything but Charlie and I got it in Arizona when we were we were[sic] riding across the Navajo Reservation. The other is that piece of cement at the end of the cabin with Charlie’s hand print in it. It also has Josephine’s and part of mine I think. I have asked him to pack it up and send it to me. Some time when you have some leisure time I wonder if you would mind looking trhough the books that I have there. There are some first editions and some autographed copies – Westerns and others there that I would like to have. One especially is Blackfoot Lodge Tales by George Bird Grinell. Also my old school books, The Mc- Guffy readers and my old geography. I am sure Guss will pack them and ship them to me if you will look them overand[sic] see which ones you think I want and which are worth shipping. Andplease,[sic] Mrs. coulter when you are there, I wish you would go into my kitchen, look on the top shelf of my cupboard and see if there are some little silver plated things there – baskets, etc. They may have been taken away but if not I think I would like to have them for my beach house. You see my beach house will have to take the place of the time I always loved to spend at Bull Head. If you see things there that you think I would like to have again, I am sure Guss can pack them for me. I don’t want to be a nuisance or bother you and your are to do this when you have some extra time. I don’t expect you to do any of it right now because you are pretty busy. It is asking a great deal I know but I hope you won’t make it a chore. A little later on I will send you a list of some of the things and where to find them – for instance those little wooden men we had out on our porch. They may be on the mantle but I am not sure. Anyway, I will send you a list and some time[sic] this summer, you have time to have Guss go with you and locate some these things. In the meantime, I send my love to you all. Sincerely,
