Great Falls, Montana, April 21, 1919. Mr. Frank B. Linderman, Somers, Montana. Dear Mr. Linderman:- We are glad Scribners are coming out of their shell and making some move that will be good for both you and the publisher. Chas. wrote you a day or so ago. I did not have my letter ready, so his was mailed. I wish I could be of some assistance to you. I would be glad if I knew more about book royalties so I could give you all the dope you need. This is what I know: Emerson Hoff says (I heard him) that he is getting 15% royalty on a new book, and seemed pleased with himself. Of course the publisher paid for all illustrations, and If I were you I sure would stick for Scribners doing the same for you, but you know best what you want to do about that. It is not necessary to have so many drawings, and let the publisher pay for them instead of tying your money up for months. We are all well and hope you folks are the same. Spring is coming and we are thinking about the mountains pretty good and hard. Sincerely yours,
