August 9, 1928 Mr. Dan R. Conway 608 13th St. N. Great Falls, Montana Dear Mr. Conway: I want to again thank you for the considera- tion and kindness that you showed me during my last visit in Great Falls. I told you in person how I appreciated your efforts to straighten out mis- understandings and misrepresentations that seem to have accumulated but I want you to be able to read it that I do appreciate the loyalty of a friend and when “Old Lady Rumor has had her claws pulled and a kind feeling again exists it is on to the things that makes a person’s heart glad. I am looking forward to hearing what the Elks have decided about their letters and to receiving Mr. Willis’s treasures. I will acknowledge them to him the moment they arrive. You will remember I told you my garage was being used by a teacher, Mrs. Chestnut. I am en- closing a check that she sent me for #35.00 which covers the rent that I have received for the garage since January 1st. This check is not to be deposit- ed until August 24th. I have made it payable to the Russell Memorial Fund. I hope your little girl has quite recovered from her operation and things are going smoothly with you. Sincerely,
