Description
Letter by Nancy C. Russell to Mr. C. F. Kelley; includes a short list of paintings with sizes and prices for possible purchase. Typed.
November 21, 1923 Mr. C.F. Kelley, Room 1801 25 Broadway, New York, N.Y. Dear Mr. Kelley: Your letter of November 13th received. Your wanting one of Charlie’s pictures makes him very happy and I am sending, under separate cover, some photos of the best things we have. Chas. thinks the “Buffalo Hunt” is a good thing. (The South Fork of the Flathead) “When Horses Turn Back There’s Danger Ahead” is just as good in its way. I have attached a short description to each picture. I am sorry we haven’t a photo of “When Horses Turn Back There’s Danger Ahead” but you may remember it. If you wish to see any of the originals, I will be glad to send them to you and if they do not appeal just have them returned to a gallery in Los Angeles. The titles of the pictures I have sent the photographs of are as follows: “Buffalo Hunt” 30”x48” $10,000.00 “The Stranglers” 30”x48” 6,000.00 “Where Tracks Spell Meat” 30”x48” 5,000.00 “The Wolf and The Beaver” 24”x36” 5,000.00 “When Horses Turn Back There’s Danger Ahead” 30”x48” 8,000.00 (The photo you saw at the lake last summer) We will at this time make a 10% discount on any of these pictures to you. Charlie says to tell you he is still on wooden legs but is coming back slowly. He hopes to see you next summer and sends kindest regards to you all. Sincerely,
