Description
Letter by Nancy C. Russell to Mr. Ralph Budd; informs Budd that she and Charles M. Russell will meet him at Ft. Union; Nancy C. Russell also informs him that she does not have any pictures of Charles M. Russell, but has provided some important dates in Charles M. Russell's life. Typed.
Apgar, Montana. July 6th, 1925. Mr. Ralph Budd, President, Great Northern Rwy. Co., St. Paul, Minn. My dear Mr. Budd: Your very kind letter received and Chas. and I will be very happy to meet you and your party at Fort Union, if that will be agreeable to you. Chas. is working and feels he should not go on to St. Paul to start out with you. We hope this will not cause you any inconvenience. I regret I have absolutely no picture of Charlie up here, so I cannot send the material you want. If a few facts will help, these are those:- Chas. was born in St. Louis, Mo. – 1865 – came to Montana in 1880 and has lived here ever since. For eleven years he punched cows or night herded horses. In the winters living either at a line camp or with an old trapper, - all the time getting historical stories from old timers. This is where the foundation was laid for the work he is doing now. Thanking you for the interest you have taken in Charlie and his work, Sincerely,
