Transcript

October 1 1925 Mr. Ralph Budd, President President, Great Northern Rwy. Co., St. Paul, Minn. My dear Mr. Budd: We have delayed writing you any kind of acknowledgement of your kindness and hos- pitality on that memorable historical expedition. I know Chas. has in mind an illustrated letter to you that will cover the ground much better than I can. We have just had occasion to write Mr. Mills regarding the proposed book on the expe- dition so I want you to know now that we do appre- ciate your thoutfulness [sic] during the Missouri trip and also felt your hand of hospitality extended to us through Mr. Irvin Cobb during those days at Pen- dleton. I know Mr. Cobb as well as we, were sorry you could not be there yourself. With kindest regards to Mrs. Budd and yourself, Sincerely,
