Letter by Nancy C. Russell to Miss Jean Ironside; wishes Ironside "Good Luck" in Alaska. Typed.

Transcript

Pasadena, California. June 18, 1931. Miss Jeanne Ironside, Seward, Alaska. Dearest Kid: I suppose this is going to find you in the land of icebergs and Northern Lights and I hope the air and environment in that northern country will put some meat on your bones. From your letter, you must be thin. I am sure you had a fine trip because you love traveling any old way, and old place as much as I dislike it. Life is a funny thing because I hate to move. If I could sit down in one spot and stay put, I believe I would like it –maybe I wouldn’t. We are rolling North this week and I feared it might be a long time before I got a letter off to you so you wont mind a typewritten one I know. I hope you find a good job and contentment and happiness for the year you are planning to spend up there. Oodles of love,
