Dear Mrs. Russell:- My prompt reply to your letter of the 9th is to be attributed to the fact that I am mad at you, and am inclined to return your acknowledgement of possession of my letter to you with instructions as to what use may put it to. I did not need any receipt from you, as you well know. I did tell you that I was gunshy [sic] after what Percy Raban did to me, and had commenced to be a bit dubious about the writing fraternity, but that had no shade of bearing upon yourself. I’m glad you got the send-off from the little Art Store publication back, as I thought it very fine. Your did not mention as to whether Dan had that magazine cut of Kee-o-mae? I hope he had it – if he did’nt [sic] I can’t seem to locate it. Also glad you got straightened up with Sid, and hope you get the Rance (Elk’s?) letters also. Though I never had the privilege of seeing them I imagine they are fine, as they would be. I told Charlie Conrad what you had said to me about the canvases in the family possessions, and he said he would write, or see you, about them, later. It may be, in the back of you^r^ mind you are thinking about me having the two non-illustrated letters photographed instead of sending the originals, but I told you why, so, if it is there, just come out of it.
