Letter by Nancy C. Russell to Mr. E. C. Babcock; informs Babcock that she in enclosing something that will give him a better idea of what Charles M. Russell thinks when he is painting, along with a description of pictures that are typical of Charles M. Russell. Typed.

October 1st, 1919. Mr. E. C. Babcock, #19 East 49th Street, New York, N. Y. Dear Mr. Babcock: In mailing the letter to you yesterday, in some way I lost the most impor- tant part, so here is what I have gotten from Mr. Russell, which will give you more of an idea what he thinks when he is painting. I have also added two descrip- tions of pictures to Mr. Conway. They are all typical of Charlie and I thought you would be interested in them. This is what Mr. Russell says about himself:-

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
