From Nancy C. Russell to Bill, late 19th century - early 20th century
Description
Handwritten letter from Nancy C. Russell to Bill (?) sending condolences about the sickness in his family.
Dear [illegible] Bill, Your letters are always such an uplift to me I may be very low in my mind and^ but when I think of the wonderful things you are doing for C. & me I [think ?] I have no right to be sad or low in my spirits. I want you to accept my sympat [sic] over the worry you have had and are having caused by sickness in your family. As I write this I think of something C. ^once^ said & it will apply to you – If you came to a stream of trouble & it looks like you are afraid to try to ford it – just keep astride of courage & reprove ^remove his bridle so you do not – pull him over in the stream & he will [sinel?] swim across & get you safely on the other side I enjoyed your broadcast very much then spirit was such an intimate a good picture of a intimate knowledge of a great man & pictured his good qualities as one who known what he speaks of. It almost made me cry when you said that. you had lost Char & Will and but – that – you still had Will McAdoo. I too have lost C. & W. but I still have ^friendship^ of W.H. for which I thank my creator. And I hope that peace & enlightenment will abide with you always. [typed] Nancy C.
