Typed letter from Nancy C. Russell to Mr. Malcolm S. MacKay dated December 3, 1926; acknowledges the receipt of a pencil sketch done by Charles M. Russell and explains that an addition was built onto the studio for a gallery that will be a memorial to Charles M. Russell, which is where the sketch will be housed.

December 3 1926 Mr. Malcolm S. MacKay, Tenafly, New York. Dear Friends: The pencil sketch of Charlie’s received. It was so nice of you to send it to me. I want you to know just where it is going. We had an addition built on to the studio this year for a gallery. It’s a log room 28 x 40 ft. so now the studio is to be made into a memorial to Charlie and that sketch will add to the interest of the col- lection. It is lovely to have and I thank you. I hope to go to see my father in Pasadena, leaving here about the 15th. I will put Jack in school down there. I don’t want to be here this Christmas. Love to the MacKay family, Sincerely,

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
