Typed letter from Nancy C. Russell to Mr. Galen P. Perry of Berkeley, California dated May 5, 1932 thanking Perry for the photo of 'A Bucking Horse' by Charles M. Russell which he is selling but she informs him that she is not in a position to purchase it.

Pasadena, California. May 5, 1932. Mr. Galen P. Perry, c/o King Tut Studio, 2513 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley, California. Dear Sir: Your letter of recent date received enclosing a photograph of “A Bucking Horse”, for which I thank you. I regret to tell you that I am not buying any of Charlie’s original paintings at the present time. I appreciate your giving me the opportunity and am sorry I am not in a position to purchase any- thing. I have no doubt you will find a purchaser without much difficulty. Thank you again for your kindness. Very truly yours,

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
