725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, California. April 28th, 1934. Dr. Philip G. Cole, 551 Fifth Avenue, New York City, New York. Dear Philip: I have just received a letter from an old timer in the North who owns one of Charlie’s letters. It is on page 33 of “Good Medicine”. The draw- ings are beautiful on this letter and the en- tire text of the letter is not printed – there is more to it. The old fellow wants to sell the letter. If you are interested in it, I will get it and send it to you on approval. He would be glad to receive $150.00 for it. I have my ear to the ground for any information I can get regarding the two paintings and will let you know when I have something definite on them. I can’t realize that little Philip is thirteen years old. It is fine you have found a place where he can really be free from his trouble and have such a wonderful time out of doors. Jack is nearly six feet tall. That may be hard for you to realize. We hope to see you out here again some day. Kindest regards to you and yours. Sincerely,
