From Nancy C. Russell to Mr. George D. Sack, January 1929
Description
Typed two page letter from Nancy C. Russell to Mr. George D. Sack dated January 1929, thanking for the check and help with the bronze works.
[handwritten] Jan – 1929 Mr. George D. Sack 350 E. 57th St., New York City. Dear Mr. Sack: Yours of the 21st received and thank you for the check. I know you will never be sorry that you have those two exquisite little figures and when you get them mounted as your idea sounds, they are bound to be as attractive as anything you have. I’m glad you have them. Joe has not come down just yet but I ex- pect he hear from him today or tomorrow. I sent your letter up to him. The photographs have not come but I suppose they would be a little slower than your letter. I will do all I can to help Joe in the details of the Hoover cabin. Thank you a million times for the bother you took going over to the bronze works. That interest shown by someone of my friends and the biggest client of Russell bronzes puts them in a position to understand I really mean what I say when I want good work turned out. I have had two very nice letters from Mr. Bertelli and I’m hoping that they will not allow anything to leave there factory as poorly put up as the last bronze here. Yes, indeed, you may keep the plaster head of the counting coup model and if it is necessary at some future time that I should need that one to make a cast from it, I know you would be perfectly willing that I should have it. One more nuisance I’m going to be. Will you call your photographer that took the picture of your bronzes, have him make two fairly decent sized photographs of each bronze and mount them in two small books. Then, will you take the book and write the titles of each photo? Please send one to the Grand Central Galleries and the other to me. This sounds like an awful lot of bother but I’m hoping you can do it at the telephone and that it will not bother too much. If you are too busy to bother with 2—Mr. Sack the titles, just have the photographer fix the books as I’ve suggested, plain binding, inexpensive and something to keep the photographs from being lost and send it to me and I will title them. I have been asked repeatedly for photographs for them to show interested customers because they have no bronze there now to speak of. Thank you so much, and please have the photographer send the bill to me direct. We are having glorious weather. I wish you and your lady and your little girl were here to enjoy the sunshine but just remember you are expected at Lake MacDonald this coming summer. Give them my love. Sincerely, NCR:ED
