Transcript

October 20, 1927 Mrs. Charles M. Russell, Trail's End, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, Calif. Dear Mrs. Russell: Through the courtesy of our mutual friend, Dr. Cole, your bronze of Will Rogers was shown to Mrs. Fred Stone, who greatly admired it. Mr. Stone is a personal friend of Will Rogers, and appears very anxious to own one of these bronzes. Should you hear from Mrs. Stone, I hope you will tell her that other pieces are being shown at our Galleries, and will likewise let me know if a definite order has been placed for the above mentioned piece. Will you also notify the foundry to replace the pieces recently sold to Dr. Cole. Yours very truly, [signed] John E. Holmes JEH FT
