November 1, 1927 Mrs. Nancy Russell, Trails End, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, California. Dear Mrs. Russell: AIR MAIL We are announcing your exhibition in an important ad for three weeks in the Art News and Art Digest, at the expense of the galleries. We wish you would advise us, however, whether you would care to have a small paid announcement in the New York papers, on the art pages? This announcement can be inserted in the five (5) leading New York papers at a cost of $50.00 We will greatly appreciate your prompt reply with regard to this matter. The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
