May 7, 1928 Mrs. Charles M. Russell, Trails End, 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, California. Dear Mrs. Russell: AIRMAIL Thank you for your good note of May first, and you are quite right in your understanding of the artist’s obligations to the gallery, -they are for a period of three years and each artist has met them. You have made contributions for two years and this is your third and last. From then on you will be an artist member without any additional expense. As we must go to press with our illustrated year book within the next few days, I will appreciate your wiring me at our expense, regarding your con— tribution for this year. With kindest wishes, I am, Very truly yours, [signed]Erwin S. Barrie Manager.

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
