Transcript

September 21, 1939 Mrs. Charles M. Russell, Trail’s End 725 Michigan Blvd., Pasadena, Calif. Dear Mrs. Russell: I wrote you on July 14th a very important letter but to date I have had no reply. Either my letter or your reply must have gone astray. I think we have an opportunity to get your entire collection of Charlie’s work into a big public museum. This is what you have always hoped and prayed for. Now, please let me know right away how many paintings you have and how many bronzes. In other words, if you can let me have titles, sizes and prices I will have a basis on which to start communications. This is a real opportu- nity but I can’t do anything unless you give me your prompt and full cooperation. Just as soon as I have your reply I will contact my client and will then let you know the next step. I would suggest that you wire me upon receipt of this letter so that I will know when to expect your reply. Sincerely, [signed] Erwin S. Barrie Manager. ESB:RMM Registered Air Mail Special Delivery
