[1] January 8th My Dear Mrs Russell I certainly do apologize to you for not answering your letter and telegram- I will ill when the message came, and after recovering went away for a little while Since returning I’ve been so very busy. I’ve neglected many things – I had sold the picture before hearing from you - But I now have a prospect of having two, and perhaps three of the [2] Earlier pictures - good ones - and have an option on seven of the black and whites that Mr. Russell made illustrating [illegible]book – Thinking you may have the book I’ll give you the page numbers Page – 105- 157- 403-123-323-399- and – In front of living and Feed [illegible] – (out of my book) – if you can help me sell these pictures I surely would be glad to like them or send them to you, It seems to me people want [3] a lot of money for them the [illegible] pictures I must pay #30000 each for could any money be made on them at that price – I will be very much interested in hearing from you, and will send you photos of the pictures as soon as I get them – Sincerely [signed] Susan E. The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
