Transcript

[1] Calgary. Dec 31st 1917 Dear Mr. Russell. We received the picture in good condition and are quite pleased with it. We were all expecting to see an old squaw but evidently you thought it out of place. Repaying my wife had the Bank of Commerce send you $400 & if you will send a note for balance & put your conditions on note or write them regarding. I will attend to it as soon as I return & date it from Dec. 26th 1917 [2] Another man is supposed to have half share in this picture but so far has not seen it. If he does not want it I wish to take it all. Send me a list of pictures you have. In case Hardwick takes this picture I would like another. Wishing you & Mrs Russell & family a happy & prosperous New Year. I remain Yours Sincerely, [signed] W.B. Campbell
