Transcript

W/D April 18, 1908. Dear Mrs. Russell: I have been away from the office and return to find your note. I don’t understand why you haven’t been paid for Buffalo Days, but I will write the treasurer and call the matter to his attention. Are you not mistaken about not having been paid for Longrope’s Last Guard? We have it recorded here as having been paid on December 10th, 1906, which means that this was the date on which we sent slip for payment to the treasurer for his atten- tion. If it’s all the same to you I am not in any hurry about having either of the two stories or illustrations that are ready. We are not buying anything just now and won’t be for a couple of months. We are trying to catch our breath after the blizzard which swept over us here recently. I hope Charles is getting all right. Sincerely, [signed] Caspar Whitney Mrs. Chas. M. Russell, Great Falls, Montana.
