Transcript

[1] Nov. 18, 1908. Mr. Caspar Whitney, 35 & 37 West 31 St., New York City. My dear Mr. Whitney; We are a little late in answering your letter of Sept. 19, but Ihope[sic] things are going easier with you all and after the big breeze business will be better than it ever has been. The West was not crippled as much as the East, at least we have not suffered any. Things are going with us as usual. We have been bumming around over the countru[sic] a good lot, Chas. gathering material , me having a good time and watching out for trunks, tickets and so on. Chas. has just returned from the buffalo roundup, Pablo herd the Canadian Government bought, altogether eight hundred head. I think he has some good dope for a story with some old time things he knows about buffaloes. He has one new story finished, “Medicine Whip’s War Scars”. It’s an Indian story of the old days. T The illustration for the “The Pair of Outlaws” is ready, any time you say the word we will send it. We received the original of “The Mad Cow” all ok, also the proof. If the picture comes out as well in the magazine it is sure a good repro- [2] duction. Did you ever get that Mexican stuff you spoke of having Chas. do some drawings for, Sincerely yours,
