From Mrs. MacKay to Nancy C. Russell, August 6, 1926
Description
Handwritten, from Mrs. MacKay, August 6, 1926, a picture was damaged; Malcolm will not accept $300 or the damaged picture.
[1] Aug 6 1926. Nancy dear. It is true that Glacier Park has been swept by forest fires? The mountains here have been so covered with smoke for days that we can scarcely see them! Hadn’t you better pack up bag and luggage the three of you and come here to us for the rest of August? You don’t know how happy you’d make us. I haven’t read Frank’s Article in Country Life yet, it came last night. One of the pictures reproduced beautifully wasn’t it tragic that that should be the one that was so badly [2] damaged! They want to settle with Malc for $300. But Malc won’t accept either the damaged picture or $300! I wonder how it will turn out [illegible] Malc. How is Charley. We often speak of you. and want to see you most dreadfully. This little note is sent you hoping it will bring you to us this summer. Best love from us all [illegible] [signed] Helen.
