Transcript

November 4 1924 Mr. Douglas Fairbanks Beverly Hills, California. My dear Mr. Fairbanks : The last time Mr. Russell had a visit with you, you said you would like to see a cow-puncher painting with the background something like and Indian picture Charlie had just finished. So with you in mind he has painted a cow- man picture that we would like you to see before we take it East for an exhibition in January. Business in taking to Los Angeles about the 14th of this month. We are going to bring the painting along and we hope you and Miss Mary will take a look at it. The canvas is the same size as your Navajo painting. We would be to take the picture to your home and hang it. That is what I should like to do, or meet you and Miss Pickford at the Biltmore Salon, then if the canvas interests you it can be in hung in your home so that you may really get acquainted. If you will drop me a line, care of the Biltmore Salon, then we will know what your pleasure is. Both Charlie and I are looking forward to seeing you and your wife and telling you how glad we are to know you are reaping the harvest of appreciation for artistic work done. Sincerely,
