Transcript

C O P Y Hollywood, California, December 31, 1927. Mr. D.R. Conway, 608 Thirteenth Street North, Great Falls, Montana Dear Mr. Conway:-- I am extremely sorry, but letters similar to your own come to Mr. Fairbanks in such huge numbers that it is impossible for him to interest himself in even a small fraction of the movements they represent. In this particular instance, he is especially sorry to be unable to do so, becaue[sic] he not only has a great admiration for the art of Charles M. Russell but in life his feeling for him was one of sincere friendship. It is difficult for the outsider to fully understand Mr. Fairbanks’ position in theses matter and I hope you will recognize the necessity of a refusal. Mr. Fairbanks extends his best wishes for the success of your splendid enterprise. Very truly yours, Loretto Sheridan, Secretary.
