January 6,1933. Mrs. C.M. Russell Pasadena, California Dear Mrs. Russell: With old 1932 history and a new year already established it is time that a thought be given to the Memorial exhibit that will open I hope in June this year. One of my neighbors called me into his home a few weeks ago and showed me a copy of one of Mr. Russell’s which came out as calendar year ago. The title, not printed on it but given by the neighbor was, The wooing of Haiahatha”, dated I believe in 1896. Can you give me any information as to whom I might get in touch with, regarding this number? I expect Doubleday-Doran Co to reprint Trails Plowed Under this spring and will nodoubt[sic] run those colored cutes for me. May we add the one from Good Medicine, Myself as a Kid, to this group? Haven’t heard any more lately about the dedication of the Memorial but feel that what is done will depend to a great extent upon how creditable a display I will be able to get together for this summer’s exhibit. If this event takes place it should be the first open day of the season for the sake fop lacing the Memorial in the best possible light before the public. I shall be pleased to have your suggest- ion and cooperation both as to the program and exhibit, we shall expect you to be present whether you take part or not in the actual program. I hope that the new year hold many pleas- ant surprises and pleasures for you and Jack. Respectfully, [signed]S.G. Schaudies
