Dear Mr. Britzman: Thank you for your letter of March 22 with the information concerning your six illustrations for the book “Fifteen Thousand Miles By Stage”. Did you purchase these pictures from a dealer or from the author’s family? Mr. Strahorn is still alive but doesn’t own any original work by Russell now. I should be greatly obliged to you if you would please tell me the exact measurements of your six pictures and would let me have a more detailed description of the one entitled “The Starting of Hailey”. Were you ever personally acquainted with the artist of these pictures? If so, I wish that [marked out] you would write me a good account of him, as you remember him. Appreciating your assistance and hoping to hear from you soon about the above matter, I am, Very truly yours, [signed] James B. Rankin James B. Rankin
