Letter by Mr. Kelley to Nancy C. Russell; states that he would like to buy the Charles M. Russell painting entitled "Dust". Typed on the front with recipes handwritten on the back.

-1- [typed] October 26, 1925. Mrs. Charles M. Russell, Great Falls, Montana. Dear Mrs. Russell: Mr. C.F. Kelley and family sailed on Saturday last for Europe, to be gone six weeks or two months. Before sailing Mr. Kelley asked me to write you about the painting entitled “Dust”, which you forward- ed some time ago. Mr. Kelley desires to keep the paint- ing, and would like to have you send a bill covering it, and also the bronzes received last summer, to this office, so that it will be here upon his return. Mr. Kelley mentioned your coming to New York, and asked me to say to you that he hoped to return before you left here, as he would be delighted to see you while you were in New York. TEC/S (over) -2- [handwritten] Italian Spaghetti de Lux 1 ½ lbs spaghetti cooked & washed 1 ½ “ hamburger 1 cup cheese (stuffed) ½ “ [illegible] 1 green pepper (chopped) 2 cans Campbell tomato soup 1 cup canned corn 1 can mushrooms cut 2 Tablesp[sic] worchester sauce 1 onion browned I Tablsp[sic] curry salt to taste mix & bake in butter mold 45 minutes (will serve 15) Macaroni Mould 1 cup soft bread crumbs soaked in 1 “ [illegible] milk ½ “ butter or hard bacon fat ¾ “ grated cheese 2 tablesp [sic] chopped onion 1 “ “ green pepper 2 well beaten eggs 1 cup cooked macaroni (measure before cooking) put in buttered mould bake ¾ hour in a pan of hot water – make a sauce to pour around it by frying 2 or 3 slices onions till brown in bacon fat adding a can of tomatos & simmering while mould is baking season well - - -

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
