Letter by W. B. Campbell to Nancy C. Russell; states that he is preparing to forward her $500. Handwritten.
[handwritten] [1] Sept 28th, 1919. Dorothy, [Alberta] Dear Mrs. Russell. Am going to Gleichen tomorrow & have the Bank of Commerce forward you $1000. that means I’ll owe you $500 to be paid Oct 1. 1920. Hope that will be O.K. We got Express Notice yesterday & hope to get picture when I am in. Did you sell the Navahoe[sic] Indian picture & Where tracks are dim (next) [2] If things look good a little later I might consider buying them. If you give us a good price & good chance to pay. Hoping you & Mr. Russell got home alright. I remain [yours?] sincerely [signed] W.B. Campbell

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
