September 18th, 1919. Mr. W.B. Campbell, Dorothy, Alta., Can. My dear Mr. Campbell: Last week I had the painting by Mr. Russell of “Carson’s Men” sent by ex- press from Saskatoon to you at Galician. I trust it was received O.K. Regarding our agreement which we made over the telephone, as I understand it, payments are to be made as follows: $500. October 1st, 1919 $500. October 1st, 1920 $500. October 1st, 1921 the deferred payments to bear interest at 7% from date. I will take your notes to that effect. I hope you all will enjoy the new picture as much as the others you have. Yours very sincerely,

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britzman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
