Description

Center Inverted on Back "13843 [slash] 13-14" Lower Center Back paper tag "Meat for Wild Men, Bronze by Charles M. Russell". Front top left corner, slight tear. Also tear top right center. Shadow cast by bronze whited out. Measurement Line Drawn across bottom with "Duotone, 7 1/2 in". Small tear bottom left. Pencil marks right center and left center. Pencil marks on top left and bottom right corners.

The Homer and Helen Britzman collection consists of over 10,000 objects belonging to Charles M. Russell including letters, drawings, personal belongings, photos, and other memorabilia. Homer Britman worked extensively with Charles Russell’s wife, Nancy, to write Russell’s biography. Chain of custody: Nancy Russell, Homer and Helen Britzman, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Amon Carter (inventoried collection in 1997), Gilcrease Management Trust (will become property of TU Special Collections if management agreement between TU and the City of Tulsa is severed).
