Latrobe’s eighth memoranda dates from January 1- May 19, 1834. Latrobe begins his January first entry by detailing the terrible weather the travelers experienced as the new year began. Latrobe’s entries become shorter in February but increase in length as the months continue. Latrobe's handwriting is very difficult to read, and the ink is faded on certain pages. Overall, Memoranda Eight is in fragile condition.
