Dear Leigh;-
Ive [sic] been so dam [sic] buisy [sic] doing nothing that ive [sic] sadly neglected my correspondence. Very little business here and money hard to get ahold [sic] of, so have been fishing most every day but even the fishing has been rather poor this spring. Its [sic] a good thing I had a little nest egg laid away that I can live on for a few years without worrying. I am wondering if you and Ethel wouldnt [sic] like to come out and spend the two ho [sic] months with us this summer, we have plenty of room, time, grub, gasolene [sic], a good car, two boats, horses, etc, and even a good duck dog to wash the dishes for us, so we could enjoy ourselves if you can break away.
I am sorry to hear you say you will be operated on again. They didnt [sic] do you much good with the first cutting, and now the bloodthirsty devils want to bleed you again. Why dont [sic] you go have a talk with McFadden, Publisher of Physical Culture or some other nature curers, and let them suggest some natural cure without cutting. Remember what a shock the last operation was to your system. My Son-inlaw [sic] got cured of enlarged prostate by a local doctor by massageing [sic], just this last Feb. and March.
I tried keeping my fingers crossed all the time this spring so you would have all the luck that is coming to you in publishing your novel, but fishing always makes me forget, so if you dont [sic] have luck, blame it on my fishing. I would want one of the books on group making and one of your horses and burros if they ever come out
