Letter from Captain John Brown, Fort Gibson, to Chief John Ross, Park Hill. Reporting seizure of a barrel of whiskey from William Lacy, a Cherokee, and requesting that he be tried under Cherokee law - this in accordance with War Department instructions of August 11.
