Description

Sepia-colored photograph of a creek, the embankment, and houses in background. Along the top, numbers are written which correspond to the houses below them and detailed information given on back of photo. Men on riverboat at botton right. Houses stretch from center to right on elevated land beyond the creek. Written on reverse, "1. Home of Col. Phillips during war - log house (J.M. Adair) my father John Lafayette Adair bought this house before the war 1857 when town of Kee Too whah was laid out here. I was born in this house - my father & mother died in it. 2. Kerr home - log house part of old garrison. 3. Daniel Ross house - log also. 4. 1 1/2 story log house "Headquarters house" ("Jeff Davis house"). 5. Across road south hospital. 6. Wm. P. Ross home. Next to Ross home was Henry Meig's home. Next to Migs home was Martin M. Saurimsher house (on the corner). Just below Schrimsher home was the store Dan & Wm. P. Ross & Daniel Counter."
