Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: Joe Wiedeman (n.d.) of Caldwell, Kansas, was a member of the "Old Time Cherokee Strip Cow Punchers Association." To be eligible as a member of this association, it was necessary to have worked as a cow puncher prior to 1893. Included in the papers is Wiedeman's membership card, a roster of the association of 1937, and an "Anti-Horse Thief Association" certificate.

Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: John Edwards (1828 - after 1895), missionary to the Choctaw Indians at Spencer and 'Wheelock Missions, wrote the story of his "Escape from the South in 1861" (34 pp). His "escape" was made when the missions had to close at the outbreak of the Civil War.

Linn, a Director of the St. Louis, Oklahoma, and Southern Railroad, to act on behalf of Linn in matters connected with the Railroad. John F. Brown (1843-1919) was Chief of the Seminole Nation from 1877 to 1907, except for the term of 1902-04. A certificate of election and oath of office (1905) are also included.
