Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: A letter from Chas. A. Looney, House of Representatives, to Grant Foreman in Muskogee, Oklahoma,concerning a trip the members of the Inland Waterways Commission will be taking. Next is a letter from R.D. Sangster, Secretary, Muskogee Commercial Club, to W.M. Kavanaugh, President of the Little Rock Packet Company,which enclosesa copy of resolution adopted by the club on April 9,1909. Third is a letter from Sangster to Grant Foreman enclosing the previous items. Finally, a letter from W.K. Kavanaugh, President of The Lakes-To-The-Gulf Deep Waterways Association in St. Louis. Acknowledging letter of Oct. 8 and seeking accommodations on a boat.

Provenance

The Gilcrease Foundation acquired these materials before 1964 and is housed in the Helmerich Center for American Research (HCAR). The library currently receives most materials through community donation, board members, artists and the acquisition of manuscript collections.

Processing Information

Staff, interns, and volunteers of the Thomas Gilcrease Library and Archive have contributed to the organization and maintenance of the files since the collection passed to the City of Tulsa in the 1950s.
