Letter from Diego Colón, son of Christopher Columbus, to Archbishop Cisneros. Diego, born in Guanahani (later San Salvador), was one of ten Natives taken back to Spain aboard the Niña in January 1493. After being baptized in Barcelona, Christopher Columbus adopted him. Diego became Columbus' chief interpreter and served him faithfully during his remaining time in the Indies.
