Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: Willie Baze Lane Pond (1896-1947) was the first teacher of the Kiowa Five Native American Artists: Spencer Asah, Jack Hokeah, Steven Mopope, and Monroe Tsatoke. She also taught James Auchiah, Carl Dietrich, June Jones, Ruby Pedrick, Lois Smoky, and Carl Sweezy. This collection includes letters about paintings, art exhibits and associations, as well as scrapbooks, sketchbooks, clipping and magazines.
