George Custer Telegram, March 4, 1876
This is a telegram written by George A. Custer to Lawrence Bonnett; it is written on a Western Union form. It says, "We start to meet Sitting Bull tomorrow will reach Lincoln Monday."
Letter from John T. Cochrane terminating General Cooper and a discussion of Choctaw funds , June 1, 1861
John T. Cochrane's letter to J. B. Luce gives an update about the removal of Cooper as Indian Agent. Cochrane’s letters also introduces the new Indian Agent named Richardson from Missouri. Tensions about whether the Choctaw will continue to support the cause of the Union versus the Confederacy is discussed, and Cochrane explains how much money it has taken to keep the Choctaw on the side of the Union.
