Description Letter was written to Honorable William R. West, Sheriff of the Canadian District of the Cherokee Nation, by I. W. Bertolf. Bertolf informed West that a head of cattle that was listed as running on his property was incorrect. The head of cattle in question was actually a cow Bertolf had milked for two summer that he drove from the Creek Nation. The cow belonged to an old lady in the Creek nation who knew of the cows whereabouts and was satisfied. The cow had been returned to the Creek...

J. L. McCorkle wrote from Webbers Falls, Indian Territory to his son in Leavenworth, Kansas. McCorkle reported that the crops were not growing well and they have been without rain. Reported fires which destroyed 200 bales of cotton, business houses in Muskogee, and the Cherokee Female Seminary. The Cherokee Female Seminary burned Sunday last, which was April 10, 1887.
