Collection summary derived from "Guidebook to Manuscripts", 1969: A ledger-type book containing an "Essay on the Language of the Indians of Lower Louisiana," (64 pages) which contains vocabulary lists, a pronunciation key, and a brief description of the Indians' life style. There is also a vocabulary of the Biloxi Language in the same book which is entirely handwritten and anonymous.
