Personal letter from Sugg Drew to his sister concerning school and asking for money, September 24, 1876
Sugg wrote his sister and gave her an update on his time at the male seminary. He mentioned that no one like the Yankee superintendent but everyone like Mr. Vann. He told his sister to tell John that he went over to the female seminary and saw Miss Mary. Sugg asked his sister to ask if John could send him a dollar or two for him to buy tobacco. Kate stated that she was writing because she had a chance to send a letter by Mr. Boudinot. Kate told her sister she wished Sugie [sic] could have come to school there and she was getting on well. She told her sister how she longed to see her and that she would write to others when she got more paper. Letter is signed Kate. Kate addressed the letter on recto to Miss Emma Vann. Kate would have been 13 when she wrote the letter. Folder 413
