There are two drawings in the 1879 book depicting warrior society dances. With painted faces and wearing roaches with eagle feathers, hair pipe chokers, and garters, the two dancers seem to be celebrating a victory. Two men on horseback greet two other men wrapped in red and blue blankets, one with a beaded blanket strip, and wearing similar red quillwork hair ornaments.
