Affidavit stated that Lanigan sent an agent, under instructions from Maj. General Hindman, into the Cherokee Nation to control and receive the salt made at Drew and Mackey's Saline. Affidavit stated that Drew declined to work on the saline and was paid $400.00 a month. Drew said it was not sufficient but at the same time received the money. Folder 321
