Description

J. L. McCorkle wrote from Webbers Falls, Indian Territory to his son in Leavenworth, Kansas. McCorkle reported that the crops were not growing well and they have been without rain. Reported fires which destroyed 200 bales of cotton, business houses in Muskogee, and the Cherokee Female Seminary. The Cherokee Female Seminary burned Sunday last, which was April 10, 1887.
