D. N. McIntosh, Colonel C. CR from Camp Pleasant wrote to General Pike reporting that 6,000 men of the opposition party plan to attach his regiment. The attack was five days away and McIntosh suggested that General Pike send the Cherokee and Choctaw forces to his aid. Folder 283

Winchester Colbert was the Governor of the Chickasaw Nation. Colbert reported on the Grand Council of Confederate Nations at Armstrong Academy and about the delegation to negotiate with U. S. for a honorable peace. 4026.1859.1 is a letter from the office of the National Secretary. William Harrison certified that 4026.1859 was a true copy and that the original was on file in his office. He was the National Secretary for the Chickasaw Nation. Folder 335
