Description

R. M. French was the High Sheriff and was writing to William West the sheriff of the Canadian District in the Cherokee Nation. The letter gives the names and descriptions of two convicts who escaped from the insane asylum on the afternoon of July 19, 1882. The names of the two convicts were Isaac Daugherty and Doast Bennette. Folder 477

R. Moore wrote from Foreman, Indian Territory to Mr. J. D. Yost in Ketchum, Indian Territory. The letter stated that he received the petition to starts an Anti-Horse Thief Association lodge at Black Jack School House.
